No One Died is a club like no other, so unlike all others is it, in fact, that it would almost be churlish to call it a club at all. It’s more like a party for your toes; a thumb wrestle with your dreams, a dance on the fruitcake statue of liberty.
Each No One Died we take two or three excellent bands, painstakingly chosen for their originality and live presence, then set them, like figurines, in the best dressed room in all of Christendom. The club celebrates it's 1st birthday in April.
Our venue is decked out in countless helium filled balloons, with candles adorning each table, in a space where almost anything can happen. We add a tiller girl, a incomparable compere, and our Crazy Cover Version Bingo®.
On top of that we have our resident DJs; Mr. Marvin, iRod and the inevitable Camden Slags, who have full license to play what they want - beautiful pop from the 50's, 6o's, 70's, 80's, 90's and now-ies, forgotten gems, fondly remembered classics… great music however you slice it.
“ Where Northern soul meets Art pop and they go out for a sandwich ”
Music. Northern soul meets Art pop and they go out for a sandwich, Glam Rock thumb wrestles with a 60’s Pop Chanteuse and loses - but only on points! It’s the reddened cheeks and distended pudenda of New Wave as Post Punk asks it to dance the Charleston.
Where. No One Died is held every other month upstairs at The Enterprises pub, 2 Haverstock Hill, Camden, London, NW3 2B
When. The next dates in 2008
Saturday 5th April
Saturday 7th June
Saturday 2nd August

History. Spring 2007... After four friends couldn't find the kind of club they wanted to go to, at least not locally, decided to set up their own. All the team are regular DJs on the new bands circuit in London and so already had a list of great bands they'd already seen but wanted see again. All the bands are picked because we really want them to play at our club. The emphasis is on making each night special and ensuring the bands enjoy themselves as much as the audience".
